Economy - A Chinese pigeon fancier paid the highest amount ever for a racing pigeon: 310,000 euros. The pigeon is Flemish, it was sold on the auction site Pigeon Paradise. The owner, a 66-year-old man from Vorselaar (Antwerp), sold his complete collection of pigeons for over 4 million euros.

Life - Average temperatures this spring only climbed to 8.1 degrees Celsius. This makes it the coldest spring since the seventies. The past 10 weeks also had dark and gloomy weather, and it doesn't look as if things are about to change, at least not in the 5 or 6 coming days. The LGBTQI community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Intersex) celebrated a double anniversary. Belgium introduced gay marriage 10 years ago, while 7 years ago same sex couples were given the legal right to adopt children.

Life - In September, Belgium's first school for butlers will open its doors in Brussels. The "School for Butlers & Hospitality" will offer a four-week training to learn the profession. It's a first for Belgium: "Until now, this type of course was only offered in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands or the United States", says Vincent Vermeulen, the man behind the Belgian school.

It started with Mechelen and Charleroi 4 years ago, and it ended on Sunday with Voeren, a Flemish municipality with language facilities for French speakers. Life - The Antwerp wine auction house Sylvie's put up 6 bottles of wine from 1735 for auction. The wines were discovered by divers in the wreckage of the ship "'t Vliegend Hert" ("The Flying Deer"), a three-master that sunk in the North Sea in the 18th century. Wine collector Chris Thiran of Belgium Wine Watchers coughed up 9,700 euros for the historic collection.
