News - The former East-Flemish governor André Denys has died at the age of 65. André Denys was battling lung cancer. He was the leader of the liberal fraction in the Flemish and the federal parliament for several years. "He was battling the disease until the very last moment", his son witnessed.

Politics - The Flemish Green MP Kristof Calvo has published draft safety reports from the end of January about the Doel 3 and Tihange 2 nuclear reactors. The reactors were taken out of service after small cracks were discovered in the reactor inspectors discovered cracks in the reactor vessel.

News - The former Prime Minister and current leader of the European People’s Party, Wilfried Martens, has married one of his former ministers, Miet Smet, in a church wedding in Lokeren. The couple wed in a civil marriage five years ago. Mr Martens was Belgium's nine-times Prime Minister, a political contemporary of Britain's Margaret Thatcher, he served without interruption from 1981 until 1992.
