Apart from the 240 wooden chalets spread out over a route of a couple of kilometres, there is also a big sound and light show on the Market Square.

A huge ferris wheel rises above the skyline and there is an ice skating rink.  Various cultural activities are also on offer.

New this year are the artists at work on ice sculptures and a bigger skating rink- big enough for 300 people. For the children there is a second 'junior skating rink'.

Last year 2.5 million people, including many foreigners, visited the largest Christmas market in Belgium.
The Brussels Christmas market is hailed by British tour operators as 'Europe's most original Christmas market' (see the Winter Wonders website)
