The village church in Huizingen (Flemish Brabant) was too small to accommodate all those wishing to attend the funeral.
A photograph of the murdered girl stood on her light grey coffin for the duration of the service.
The priest told the congregation “Let us remember her for the pleasure with which she lived her life and the friendship she gave.”
"With this in mind it’s not strange that we are united in deep grief at the loss of this young life."
"Priscilla was taken from us in a particularly brutal fashion. Just at the moment that she was about to begin to become an adult."
"However, we should realise that despite our feelings of powerlessness, death never has the last word."
There still has been no breakthrough in the investigation into Priscilla’s murder.
Although the police have searched several properties and question a number of people, including the girl’s neighbour, about the murder, no suspect has yet been detained.
