At the party congress party chairwoman Bettina Geysen (photo above) said that it was the ambition of the party to get more than 5% of the votes in the next elections.
According to Ms Geysen it is an ambitious goal, but necessary for the party to have an influence on policy.
The party chairwoman emphasised that the party had finally restored credibility following the disappointing results in the last elections. Spirit lost all its seats in the Chamber of Deputies and only retains one seat in the Senate (Geert Lambert in the photo with Bettina Geysen above).
"We are the most progressive party and the only progressive party that is also Flemish," says Bettina Geysen, adding, "This is a unique position."
