Queen Paola "doing well" after operation

Queen Paola underwent an operation at the UMC Sint-Pieter Hospital in Brussels on Thursday. The queen was suffering from a benign urological affliction leading to speculation the queen had kidney stones.

The Royal Palace says that the operation went smoothly and that the queen is well. King Albert's consort will stay in hospital for a couple of days. Her convalescence will take several weeks.
