Triple murder caused by financial dispute?
On Friday, a man, his female partner and a 9-year-old boy were killed in front of the man's house. They were shot by someone who was waiting for their arrival inside a car. The man used a 9mm automatic rifle and hit the man and the woman several times. The boy was hit by only one bullet, but also died.
The investigation is in the hands of the Liège judicial authorities. Detectives think that a financial dispute could be at the basis of the attack. The man was a director at a local branch of the BNP Paribas Fortis banking group. It is said that he had received threats from a client he had ousted. Others were not amused after he carried out a restructuring operation, which led to redundancies.
CCTV footage from a filling station nearby the man's house could supply more clues concerning the killer. It is thought he waited for hours before carrying out the attack. In the street, a suspicious-looking Mercedes was seen by witnesses. However, for the moment, no suspects have been arrested yet.
