Brussels Airlines cancels flights to Israel
Brussels Airlines has joined other international carriers in cancelling flights to Israel's commercial capital Tel Aviv.
One flight to Ben Gurion was cancelled on Tuesday night. Three further Brussels Airlines flights are cancelled on Wednesday. Spokesman Geert Sciot said the company was doing this in the light of the unclear security situation: "Passengers can rebook or get their money back."
Earlier the US aviation authority FAA banned US carriers from flying to Ben-Gurion after a missile struck a target 1.6 km from the airport named after Israel’s first president.
The charter airline Jetair too has cancelled a flight from Brussels. The Jetair flight to Tel Aviv on Tuesday was diverted to Cyprus.
